Wanna go Natural??

Hey ladies!!! Are you thinking about going natural but not sure what to do or where to begin?? Well I'm here to help. First I want to go over a few commonly used terms in the natural community.

BC (big chop)- cutting all you relaxer off at once
Transition- the process of going from relaxed to natural
Cowash- washing hair with conditioner instead of shampoo
Protective style- styles that protect your hair from manipulation and weather

Not every women feels comfortable enough to do the BC and that is perfectly fine. Doing the BC is not the only way to go natural. Many women opt to transition. You can transition as long as you like. Sometimes it may be easier to cut off an inch when you get an inch of new growth.

Some great transitioning styles include: braids, twist, sew-ins, and buns. If you are transitioning and you straighten your hair all the time you could be damaging your curl pattern. If you never plan on wearing your hair in its natural state, then straightening your hair is not a problem... be sure to use a heat protectant.

If you are impatience like I am... Be bold and chop it all off... You have to have confidence and feel good about yourself to do the BC.

Ok... Now that you've decide if you want to BC or transition, there are so more things you must do. You MUST keep your moisturized!!! Develop a daily routine. Most naturals only use shampoo once or twice a month because it dries your hair out. Although we may only shampoo twice a month, we will cowash at least three times a week. After the cowash, use a moisturizer and seal in the moisture with oil.

This is very brief so if you have any question please leave your comment below or email lovelifelivefab@gmail.com . I will devote another blog for your questions.
